About Susan
Founder & Principal Designer
Susan Bednar Long is known for interiors of quiet sophistication, spaces that feel collected over time that grow richer the longer you live in them.
Growing up in Connecticut, her path into design began with a foundation in fine art, studying sculpture at Occidental College and developing an early fluency in space, scale, and the relationship between objects and their environment. That foundation led to Ralph Lauren Creative Services in Manhattan, where formative years in one of the world's most disciplined creative cultures shaped her philosophy that luxury means intention, curation, and a fully realized world.
She carried that standard into her own practice. Years of living in New York and Los Angeles, and working across the US and Europe, inform every project she takes on today. Now practicing in Dallas with deep ties to Connecticut and the northeast, Susan works across style vocabularies, always beginning with what the architecture asks for and what the client's life requires. Her rooms have depth and character — antiques alongside contemporary pieces, each sourced with the instinct of a seasoned hunter from trade showrooms and European antique markets to estate sales and artisan workshops. The result is interiors that reveal themselves over time.

“I keep the drama in the design, not the process.
My clients are highly successful people who want it done right and that’s what I do.”
Client-Centric Approach to Interior Design
What clients describe consistently is the experience of working with her. Direct and organized, Susan listens carefully, communicates honestly, and follows through on every detail from the first architectural planning meeting to the final accessory placement. She accepts a select number of projects each year precisely because that level of personal involvement cannot be delegated.
