Before & After: My Bathroom’s Interior Design Update

It’s been quite awhile since I’ve posted regularly to my Journal, mainly due to all the interior design project work that's kept me traveling. With S. B. Long Interior’s website launching this week, I wanted to get back to posting and share a powder bathroom gut renovation recently completed at...

Snapshots from Miami

Travel always inspires my work, and recently I’ve found a lot to love in Miami Beach. I’ve started going there for a project, and at every turn there’s something fun to look at. Not surprisingly, my favorites are the vibrant colors, fresh art deco architecture, repetitive details and patterns you...

Structured Style: My Garden Inspirations

A personal project this summer has been planning the landscaping for my home in Highland Park. I’ve always loved traditional European gardens, where everything is organized and there’s clear geometry in the design and repetitive themes. To bring about that feel, I’m planning to integrate boxwoods and lots of green...

About

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been fascinated by design and the subtle impact of our surroundings. Some of my earliest influences still resonate – I think of the dark woods and textured lodens of my father’s shooting club, the smell of fresh paint on a new canvas, and the bold symmetry of the Philip Johnson Glass house just down the street. For me, it was a natural path to become an Interior Designer. I love what I do. I’ve created this Journal to share my thoughts, finds and design inspirations. I hope you enjoy it!
