One of the coolest discoveries since moving to Dallas is my designer day in Dallas. This is when I browse the consignment and vintage furniture shops for my interior design projects. Having seen so much of the same trendy furniture designs at designer markets, its important for me to find original, interesting interior items. Like my hunting at Round Top, I always end up finding unusual pieces with a past. Dallas has a bunch of these shops and I find I have to get to them frequently to see the inventory before all the folks on 1st Dibs do! The weather’s been gorgeous here, too, so last week I took a day to get out and tour some of my favorite places.
Of course, I had to first take advantage of the beautiful day by stopping at Klyde Warren Park to grab some brisket tacos at one of the food trucks. There’s been a lot of hype buzzing in Dallas about these trucks and (as in many cities) mobile restaurants seem to be everywhere lately.
Then it was off to the shops! I’ve been looking for pieces for specific projects (including my own house!) and, as usual, found some great stuff:
Acrylic coffee table from Vinya Design & Consign.
Love these cowhide chairs.
Settee sofa from Again & Again.
Tufted accent chairs from Scout Design Studio.
Sculptures, also from Scout Design Studio.
A pair of Grosfeld House lattice chairs, also from Again & Again.
Paper elk, another interesting find from Scout Design Studio.
