Snapshots from Miami

Travel always inspires my work, and recently I’ve found a lot to love in Miami Beach. I’ve started going there for a project, and at every turn there’s something fun to look at. Not surprisingly, my favorites are the vibrant colors, fresh art deco architecture, repetitive details and patterns you...

Precious Stones and Metals at High Point

2014-10-19-10.48.55

Each fall I look forward to visiting High Point. It's a great place, of course, to shop for clients and see new products from my favorite vendors. But also you can't help but notice what's trending, and at last week's showcase there seemed to be a running theme of precious...

Dwell with Dignity’s Thrift Studio Pop-Up Shop

One of my favorite charities here in Dallas is Dwell with Dignity. If you’re not familiar, it’s a great nonprofit that provides furnishings, pantry items, and home makeovers to those struggling with poverty. Last night I attended the preview party for Thrift Studio, a 30-day pop-up shop that serves as...

Buren has a...

About

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been fascinated by design and the subtle impact of our surroundings. Some of my earliest influences still resonate – I think of the dark woods and textured lodens of my father’s shooting club, the smell of fresh paint on a new canvas, and the bold symmetry of the Philip Johnson Glass house just down the street. For me, it was a natural path to become an Interior Designer. I love what I do. I’ve created this Journal to share my thoughts, finds and design inspirations. I hope you enjoy it!
