One of my favorite places is Kauai, Hawaii. It’s a destination that without fail – always makes me forget about the hectic stresses of daily life and slows my pace. It’s crazy beautiful and the people are so happy and relaxed – it’s refreshing. They don’t care what handbag I am carrying or what school my kids attend, only that I caught that great rainbow after the afternoon showers.
I wanted to share this place with my family, so I booked a trip for our “spring break.”
We stayed at the St. Regis Princeville overlooking Hanalei Bay. Some of the highlights of our trip were S’mores at the beach bonfire, nighttime tide pool explorations with flashlights and the local Marine Biologist, Captain Paul, watching the kids learn the Hula, and hitting the casual Hanalei Dolphin Restaurant for sushi and the local catch.
From a design perspective – the island is full of color and texture. Here are a few beautiful things that I saw and wanted to share:
