Every summer my family heads to Nantucket for our annual vacation. Although I’ve explored many areas of the island, my favorite spot to vacation is ‘Sconset. The village of historic rose covered cottages is lovely and it’s a quiet spot on the island as well. With the local market, a few great restaurants within walking distance and the ocean as a backdrop – it’s all you need! When I’m not relaxing on the beach I like to tour around and check out the island.
Here are few photos I took of things that caught my eye this year!
Ridiculously beautiful climbing roses and blue hydrangeas draping a cottage compound in the Village of ‘Sconset
A lady after my own heart! Love the black and white striped dress and the matching bag and hat are so pretty. She was the best dressed on Fair Street!
Everyone has a bike with a basket – it’s the best way to get around the Island. This was a particularly nice set of wheels parked in town.
We had a cocktail party one evening at our house. The colorful table set just before our guests arrived looked so pretty against the green shrubs and blue ocean – I had to take a picture of it!
I saw this old cruise ship mirror at an antique store on Centre Street. I love how modern it looks with the chrome ball details.
Window boxes are everywhere in the Town of Nantucket. This one was particularly interesting to me. I love the combination of flowers and plants against the white & black house colors.
The complex gray tones in the shingle style homes is always lovely. This was a triple whammy – gray shingles, gray truck and gray dog! How cool.
