In designing the interiors of her Washington, CT country home, interior designer Susan Bednar Long mingled antique furniture with one-of-a-kind decorative objects, employing her modern traditional aesthetic. With 20 years of curated collecting, every piece has a fun story. Her original inspiration for the interiors was Bill Blass’ country home in New Preston, CT where she loved the contrast of light and dark, and the classic antiques mixed with crisp white walls and pretty tattersall and plaids. With the addition of the primary bath and kitchen she was inspired by the interiors of Belgium with their subtle warn grays and textured woods.
