Suffering from many years of cheap and piecemeal renovations this rambling historic farmhouse in Washington, Connecticut needed a thoughtful interior design plan. Luxury Interior designer Susan Bednar Long was excited for the task. In three phases, she renovated the home including re-imagining the kitchen and breakfast space, Primary bedroom suite and kids wing. The renovation focused on millwork details, subtle historic paint colors, traditional lighting fixtures, and furnishings that give the rambling colonial rooms a relaxed and country fresh feel. With a purposeful use of neutral tones throughout and specific pops of color and pattern, the house has been dignified and elevated to align with its original architecture.
