I’ve been an artist all my life, exploring many mediums. I completed a Fine Art major in college, focusing on sculpture, which has brought me to where I am today — shaping and influencing interior spaces. I love looking at and being surrounded by art. So it was a pleasure recently when I attended the preview gala of the Dallas Art Fair, which featured works from more than 80 national and international dealers and galleries.
The soiree benefited the Dallas Museum of Art, the Dallas Contemporary, and the Nasher Sculpture Center. This was the fifth annual fair, and it seemed like the entire Dallas art world came out for the party. It certainly felt like the place to be!
I was pleased to see some of my favorite New York City galleries represented, including Marlborough Gallery and Morgan Lehman Gallery. Afterwards, we finished the evening with fellow art-loving friends having dinner at the adjacent hotspot Stephan Pyles.
The artworks, which were displayed at the Fashion Institute Gallery, ranged from contemporary pieces by emerging artists to those by established painters and sculptors. Following are some pictures of the works I particularly liked:
I’m already looking forward to attending next year’s gala AND filling my new Dallas walls with some of wonderful pieces.
