Snapshots from Miami

Travel always inspires my work, and recently I’ve found a lot to love in Miami Beach. I’ve started going there for a project, and at every turn there’s something fun to look at. Not surprisingly, my favorites are the vibrant colors, fresh art deco architecture, repetitive details and patterns you find almost everywhere, and great examples of modern landscaping.

This week the Miami art fairs will be in full swing, and though the focus will be on the art (and parties!), it’s worth checking out the area’s design and architecture.

Here are some favorite shots from my most recent visit:

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been fascinated by design and the subtle impact of our surroundings. Some of my earliest influences still resonate – I think of the dark woods and textured lodens of my father’s shooting club, the smell of fresh paint on a new canvas, and the bold symmetry of the Philip Johnson Glass house just down the street. For me, it was a natural path to become an Interior Designer. I love what I do. I’ve created this Blog to share my thoughts, finds and design inspirations. I hope you enjoy it!
