One of my favorite places to source unique, modern furnishings on the East Coast is Holly Hunt, the chic contemporary design showroom. That’s why I’m thrilled that the company just opened a new location here in Dallas. Last night was the grand opening, and the new space is every bit as beautiful as I’d anticipated.
It seems to be a homecoming of sorts for Holly Hunt, the woman behind the brand, who’s originally from Texas. She started her first luxe showroom in the 1980’s in Chicago, before opening other branches around the country. The Dallas location is the first in Texas (another opens in Houston soon). Hunt recently sold her company to the furniture giant Knoll, but she’s still at the helm.
The new showroom mixes Holly Hunt’s signature streamlined aesthetic of mid-century inspired furnishings with playful Texas references, like carved buffalo skulls and dramatic black-and-white photos of longhorns and cowboys. Some of the details I love in the new showroom are the unique lighting—including great floor lamps, pendants, and chandeliers—beautiful occasional tables, the rug and leather collections, and the well-styled vignettes throughout.
Here’s a collection of my favorite shots from yesterday’s opening:
